SBS: African – Young People’s stories

October 23, 2011

I mentioned about three weeks ago how I got the opportunity to talk by experience as an African-Australian at National Conference for International Year of People of African Descent (IYFPOAD) along with 4 others – Effie Nkrumah, Helen Keteku, Sylvia Fobi and Nick Mbogua
We were each given 5 minutes and in that time I spoke about my experience growing up, people forgetting that we go through an identity battle, being a creative studying at a tertiary level, starting Afroklectic, my experience in the UK and The Afroklectic Project with a snippet of the introduction video. I hope I am given the opportunity at a later date to discuss the full details of my experience and practice.
The talk has been posted on SBS: African – Young People’s Stories.
